self-love self-care love

Happy Love YOU Everyday!

Let me start out with some honesty. I’m not a big fan of Valentine’s Day. I don’t dislike it, I just think it’s easy to lose yourself in the noise, hoopla and celebration.

Instead, how about using the day to practice self-love. Loving others fully starts with loving you.

Without giving it a thought, you might buy a sweet V-card with a prewritten sentiment for someone in your life. But don’t forget about you. How about giving yourself a few minutes and composing a note to self, that reinforces what you love about you.

Dear Self,

I love you because …….

Stuck, not sure what to write. Here’s a snippet of mine:

Dear Joselyn,

I love you because you invested the time to know you. I love you because you connected to the essence of who you are and found your truth. I love you because you used your truth, molded it into your purpose so that you can live authentically and help others find their authenticity as well.

How much or how little you write doesn’t matter. What matters most is that you know you are worthy, and deserve your time to acknowledge you.

If you find this short exercise challenging, that could be a sign. Maybe you don’t feel worthy. Perhaps, you think self-love and self-care is a waste of your time. Or you find yourself allocating time for everyone, except you? Maybe, you lost the connection to you.

If any of this sounds familiar, please give yourself five minutes. Surely, you can spare five minutes. Show yourself some love and give yourself some time to think about what you love about you.

Can I take it one step further? How about being intentional and showing yourself some love EVERYDAY!

With your help, we can amplify self-love and turn Happy Valentine’s Day into Happy Love YOU Everyday!
